Disappointing
This approach to the Catechism of the Catholic Church doesn’t do it for me. There is no need to “jazz it up” in some new way that will supposedly make it more interesting to the present culture or to the youngsters. Not at all. Simply stick with the fundamental approach which worked so well in the past. I am 82 but I would bet that there are many of much younger age that would agree with me. This is the only one of eleven courses I have taken from Now You Know Media which has been a disappointment. Of course others may well differ. This is just my own assessmen but it is sinceret.

Quite disappointing!
I have two groups that have met weekly for the past three years, with about 50 adults altogether. This is the first series — from Now You Know or anywhere else — that we have abandoned. We listened to the first 5 weeks and the general consensus was that the speakers were way too academic. Personally I most enjoyed the talk on Missiology and (on my own) the talks on sacraments, however all sorts of people were tuned out, falling asleep and failing to show up. Disappointing! In contrast, we have loved many other series, such as Becoming the Eucharist We Celebrate!

We gained much from this
Living Our Faith: The Catechism of the Catholic Church both challenged and informed the people of my parish who attend my annual Lenten series. We all gained much from it. In an age of declining church attendance, this is exactly what we need to inspire future generations.
