The Kenan Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina, she is best known for her “Broaden-and-Build” theory of positive emotions, which demonstrates how pleasant emotional states contribute to resilience, well-being, and health. Dr. Fredrickson has published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles and her bestselling books, Positivity and Love 2.0, have been translated into dozens of languages. Recently identified as in the top 0.01% of scientists in terms of career-long scholarly impact, in 2017 she was honored with the Tang Prize for Achievements in Psychology, which recognizes exceptional career contributions to the well-being of humanity.
