He brings a vast erudition to bear on the challenges facing the church today, but without being bogged down in academic jargon. 1. Fr. Bob Cushing

    *

Excellent and insightful summary of the major contributions of Good Pope John plus inside information about where he was at critical junctures of history, e.g. the Cuban missile crisis.

  2. Michel

This course presented new aspects of the life of John XXIII that were totally ignored by me.

This course presented new aspects of the life of John XXIII that were totally ignored by me. I discovered that John XIII was a man with fresh ideas, because of which he was suspected by his peers… In a special way, he was a very skill diplomat when he had to regulate the situation of the bishops of France after Word War II. He was an audacious man inspired by the Holy Spirit to launch Vatican II.

  3. Dan

    Enjoyed it

I enjoyed the quick review of 20th Century papal history as well as the life of John XXIII and the story of Vat II with some bits about the aftermath of the Council.

    2018 Spring Survey

It was spiritual and informative yet also extremely helpful and accessible. Though the cds can be a little expensive.
