“If God can work through me, he can work through anyone.” – Saint Francis of Assisi (ca. 1181–1226)
Who was medieval Italy’s Francis of Assisi? Millions know him as the saint who first received the stigmata of Christ, as a champion of the poor, and as a mystic who possessed a divine rapport with the natural world. But few know that Saint Francis also created an extraordinary system of spiritual practices to radiate joy inward to the soul and outward to the world.
In The Way of Saint Francis, Father Murray Bodo O.F.M., reveals the life of this celebrated saint and shares specific meditations, prayers, and teachings to cultivate the five great keys of Franciscan spirituality. As you listen to these moving audio sessions, you will explore St. Francis’s essential teachings of silence, purification, openness, response, and time. Through them, you will learn to open the door to the cell within—a sacred inner space available to us at any time and in any situation.

A very inspiring listen. St Francis and St Clare are such wonderful saints and have much to illuminate our lives today. It’s not always easy but very rewarding if we follow the teachings and practices that they themselves followed.

I listened to it in the car and found myself listening three times because there was so much to reflect on. Also as a Franciscan, there was much resonation in me.
