Discover the Book of Genesis anew in this brilliantly taught Bible study course.

Genesis may be one of your favorite books of the Bible, but many of its stories can seem puzzling or foreign. How are we to reconcile the two seemingly different creation stories? And why would a supposedly benevolent God ask Abraham to sacrifice his son? How is the bible’s first book relevant to our lives today?

Under the guidance of Sr. Dianne Bergant, PhD, the former President of the Catholic Biblical Association of America, you will come to understand the Book of Genesis as never before. In 12 superb lectures, you will study the primary literary forms, cultural context, and theological underpinnings of the most beloved biblical stories. As you do so, you will see how its authors, despite living in a very different world, are much like us: people who seek to be faithful to the God who loves them.

Clarifies some issue which have incorrectly become part of “Bible History” for many Christians.

Sister Diane’s lectures on Genesis clarify some issue which have incorrectly become part of “Bible History” for many Christians. She does this respectfully, but clearly and definitively. Very important!

Wonderful and excellent — you should start here

A brilliant and thoroughly knowledgeable review of the book of Genesis.

Not only is she theologically dead-on, but her presentation and spiritual insights are brilliant. I agree with everything she states – but then that’s why I think she’s great.

    Fall Survey: October 2016

Sr. Dianne Bergant’s program is easy to follow and understand, but gives a new way to look at Genesis in every session. She is full of wisdom and has a true gift when it comes to teaching. Her course is good for anyone, no matter how much (or how little) experience they migh have in Scripture study.

  6. Rev. Thomas E.,, OH

    Winter Survey: January 2017

Sister’s lectures are thorough and helpful. They take into account recent scholarship, but aren’t subservient to it.

  7. Hedy M., CA

    Winter Survey: January 2017

The in depth knowledge of Sr Diane Bergant makes the Psalm come alive. Her insights provide ample discussion in our Bible Study

  8. Robert E., WA

    Winter Survey: January 2017

Insightful survey, excellent discourse on exegetical methods. Sometimes strays toward more liberal interpretations, but keeps within bounds.
