In the midst of our busy and overscheduled lives, how can we find God and let God find us?

Modern life is dominated by mass communication, social media, and technology. While these outlets give us new ways to interact, they also distract us from the voice of God.

Join two retreat masters in rediscovering God in your daily life through this innovative program based on the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Presenters Virginia Blass and Father Harry Cain combine retreat practices, Scripture studies, and prayerful reflection to guide you on your own spiritual journey. As James Martin, SJ, notes, “Their inviting and accessible lectures will help you discern, with God’s help, what you should do, what you want to do, and what will bring you joy and peace.”

This comprehensive retreat is designed for two purposes:

1. To allow those trained in the spiritual exercises to introduce the spiritual exercises to others. It can be adapted to various presentation locations, time frames, and participants’ needs.

Rev. Harry Cain, S.J., brings a lifetime of ministry in spiritual direction and retreat work to his teaching. Rev. James Martin, S.J., best-selling author of The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything and My Life with the Saints, said, “Harry Cain, S.J., is one of my favorite Jesuit spiritual directors: awake, attentive, and aware. Years ago he helped me through a tough time with his wise advice and caring manner. To listen to these tapes is to listen to a truly gifted spiritual guide.” Rev. Cain has served as national director of the Movement for a Better World team, with whom he preached throughout the U.S. from 1970 to 1974. His preaching style is known for its wit, wisdom, and humor. He is a Jesuit of the New England Province and was ordained in 1963.

  1. Sister LN

    Not what I expected

The singing really distracted me from the message. I really prefer one presenter.

  2. Dorothy L. Briggs, Zanesville, OH, USA

    *

The two presenters not only knew their subject well, but were able to “package” it in a most appealing way (using conversational dialogue and even humor sometimes). Moreover, they varied their teaching techniques (e.g., role play) to keep the listener’s interest throughout.

  3. From Australia

    Delivery was engaging.

Delivery was engaging. Sense of humor from both presenters. Could relate to lived experience Relative I just loved both presenters style.
