Excellent thematic application of Francis to the post modern world

Fr. Rohr is a good companion any time, and a wonderful Lent or Advent companion. I took him with me during Lent, and I’m still thinking about the themes of a life lived in the witness of Francis and how astoundingly contemporary Francis’ message was/is. I appreciated the level of challenge and truth telling at the same time I found myself spiritually scrambling to review my own biases and certitudes…the strong message in Francis of universal acceptance and non-judgement has influenced me mightily, and I may return for a “booster shot” and listen to it again this Lent upcoming! Good theology, good spirituality, good support, good challenge–this series had all that I was looking for.

Richard Rohr and the subject of letting go in the way of St. Francis is wonderful for Secular Franciscan ongoing formation.

This course helps me to remember that the material world is not what life is all about and encourages me to continue working toward living a simpler life more focused on my relationship with God.

Fr. Rohr is an excellent teacher!

This was an excellent presentation on the life and values of St. Francis…which are just as applicable today as in his time…maybe more applicable today. It provides a view of how Jesus see’s all mankind & the world and challenges all Catholics, Christians and every other religion to collectively strive to make all things one as our Heavenly Father and Jesus are One. There is also well founded criticism of how Religion has failed and succeeded in teaching and adhering to the true message of Jesus and the Gospels. Fr. Rohr is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable on the life of Francis , the Gospels , Catholic , Christian and other religions . He is non judgmental but challenging in applying the core values of Francis, which are fully aligned with church doctrine, to how we can lead better spiritual and personal lives. This is critical thinking at its best and I cant imagine anyone not being rejuvenated with new insights and renewed spiritual focus throughout this presentation.

This was very informative and a great teacher of Franciscan Spirituality.

This was very informative and a great teacher of Franciscan Spirituality. He puts it in a down to earth manner especially for us in the hustle and bustle times we live in. Fr. Rohr has a great delivery and delightful voice–it easy to listen again and again to the CD’s to catch what I did not hear or listen to the first time. Excellent production work to!!

  7. Fr. David

Rohr presents the course with respect, wisdom, and great reflection.

Rohr presents the course with respect, wisdom, and great reflection. It does not come across like a classroom lecture but a true conversation!

  8. Marilyn

It reminds me to not get so caught up in acquiring material things!

It reminds me to not get so caught up in acquiring material things, and also to remember that God is in control, and when events occur that start to upset me, I need to just trust Him and turn these events over to Him in prayer.

The clarity, practicality, simplicity and depth of Fr. Rohr’s presentations are encouraging, inspiring, uplifting and motivating. I have listened to his presentations more than once and never cease to take away a new message.

  10. Therese

    Very practical

Letting Go, by Richard [Rohr], a very practical way to the Christian way of life, letting go, of the unnecessary baggage we carry that weigh us down, and not to be critical our every day lives.

  11. Carrie Ann

    Friendly and informative

Fr. Richard Rohr’s presentation style is friendly and informative. His personality comes right through. I enjoyed being able to listen to a lesson, then step away and think about it, and come back and listen again. It allows me to internalize the concepts and see how best to apply them to my daily life. And there is ALWAYS something that translates into “real” life.

  12. Pat

    He hits the nail everytime

Richard Rohr puts one right where they need to be. He hits the nail everytime and helps one understand self and life’s happenings.

  13. Clifford

Not Much Help On Letting Go

Fr Rohr goes on and on with out telling you much about the process of letting go. He spends very little time on St. Francis. He is also very arrogant telling us how the church has been wrong for the last 1,000 years but he knows the right way and how the rest of us get it wrong. He criticizes capitalism with out really understanding it. I wish I had not purchased it.
