What role does mercy play in your daily life? How can stories like the Parable of the Prodigal Son and Les Misérables help you practice forgiveness? Explore one of God’s Mercy is one of God’s greatest gifts to us with a celebrated spiritual leader.

In 12 extraordinary lectures, this course invites you to experience the life-giving spirituality of mercy. You will join Fr. Dan Crosby, OFM Cap.—one of our warmest and most charismatic presenters, as well as a celebrated spiritual leader and winner of our Teaching Excellence Award.

A powerful beatitude, mercy runs through Scripture, Church teaching, and modern culture. Fr. Crosby, a friend of Saint Solanus Casey, helps you recognize the importance of mercy today in everything from modern poetry to Pope Francis’s pontificate. You will look closely at Dives in Misericordia (“Rich in Mercy”), the encyclical on Divine mercy—a concept central to all three Abrahamic religions.

Examples of mercy abound in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. You will examine both in depth: from Psalm 89 to the Sermon on the Mount. Throughout, you will love listening to Fr.

5 reviews for Mercy: The Heart of Faith, the Reason for Hope

  1. Br. Kieran

It is a series of which I would use the term ‘transformative’.

In the forthcoming year of mercy the series of Fr. Dan on Mercy, the Heart of Faith, the Reason for Hope is a series I shall use with an ecumenical group during the Lenten season. It is a series of which I would use the term ‘transformative’. It has the potential to change our hearts and that of the church and world.

    Meaningful and applicable

Message so timely so meaningful and so applicable to daily living. Group watched it together leading to spontaneous discussions among themselves. Study guides were good for personal meditations.

    Fall Survey: October 2016

One of our favorite presenters is Dan Crosby, OFM Cap. The content of the program as well as the manner of his delivery encourages us to want to complete the program or others given by him. We use your programs as a means of Ongoing Formation at our Motherhouse as well as retreat opportunities.

    Distracting delivery

DISCLAIMER: These CD talks have been playing at meals at the monastery where I am currently on retreat, so I’ve only heard a few of the sessions.

This man’s delivery style drives me to distraction. His instructions sound like they’re coming from a cross between a late-night televangelist and Mr. Rogers, which I find off-putting. Other reviewers here seem to like him, so take what I say with a grain of salt…but I couldn’t stand to listen to five CD’s worth of him.

    Winter Survey: January 2017

I most appreciate teachers whose love of God shines clearly through. Fr. Crosby and Prof. Dempsey both have this quality. I want more than head knowledge, though I need that as well.
